Kate's

The only annoyances are bugs that spend their lives addicted to glow and the inability to adjust my eye to catch the light of further reaching stars when I look up. The deck is still warm from the heat of the day and the mountain breeze gently eddies off the awnings. It has been hard to take it all in.

The upper crusts float with there twilled hats and wish for such a dwelling but few will see it through. Each timber has a cost and each nail has intention for this structure is greater than its matter.

I’ve played with ignorance, justification, euphemisms and denial but those were a foolish ploy. The thought I can’t escape, ‘I don’t deserve any of this’ yet the injustice is beautiful. Far from finished yet I could move in today and live without discomfort. May I never take it for granted, may I never complain, for the value is not in the wood, granite or slate. As my Father builds a palace, my father builds a house by a lake and invites me to rest.
